1) I see there are a lot of inquiries this morning about babies crying and not picking them up. There are many differing views! I have a 2-month old and, so far, am not considering the CIO approach. My concern comes from the fact that when my baby is crying and I can't get to her immediately (like when I have her in the bouncy in the bathroom while I'm showering or I'm trying to get something out of the oven and prevent something on the stovetop from burning, etc...you know...those situations when you just can't get to the baby right at the very second they start crying!), when I finally do get to her, she's wailing and burning up! She's red-faced, hot, her scalp/hair are moist from the sweat worked up while crying and she's harder to calm....all of this in about 2-3 minutes of crying! It makes me wonder what would happen if I left her for even 5 minutes to cry, let alone 15-30 minutes! Sooo, in seeing what happens to my baby after just 2 minutes of crying, I have to ask, does this happen to you and your babies or does my baby just have a very intensive response to not being tended to immediately? It scares me, seriously!
2) We co-sleep. I've noticed over the last week that my baby has been quite a bit more restless during sleep and squirms a lot. Her newest thing is getting herself on her side and turning her face repeatedly into the mattress and back as she squirms her body. It scares me because sometimes she leaves her face squished into the mattress and I have to turn her. It seems like she's either trying to turn herself completely onto her tummy (which she does frequently, too) or maybe she has an itch on her face and repeatedly moving her face into the mattress relieves it? LOL...I'm just throwing things out for thought here...I'm really clueless as you can see! Anyway, it concerns me mostly because she just seems discontent over the last week. Any thoughts?
3) Breastmilk-- I breastfeed and also pump so Daddy can bottlefeed. I'm wondering, and I hope this isn't too personal or TMI, what everyone's breastmilk looks like. What is the consistency? My own seems very watery to me. Most often you can see through it. Not that I've taken the time to study another woman's breastmilk but it seems like it would be more opaque? a thicker consistency? Anyone have any thoughts?
Sorry for the length of this. Any help is much appreciated.
