The star of the 2012 NBA Summer League was undoubtedly Damian Lillard. Lillard was selected sixth overall in the 2012 draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. During summer league, the product of Weber State averaged 26.5 points, 5.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game. Not only did he lead summer league in scoring, he took home co-MVP honors.
If you watched the games, you saw Lillard dominate the action. Scouts are saying he’s plays like Derrick Rose — with a better outside shot. That, obviously, is extremely high praise.
As for 2013 fantasy basketball, a fair Damian Lillard projection would be about 15 points and six assists per game. He’s not going to explode more than that but he’ll play a ton of minutes and get a lot of chances to prove his worth. He might shoot for a low percentage but that is about the only knock on Lillard, who currently looks like he should become an All-Star at some point in the future.
