Marino inherited a team that went to the Super Bowl the year before with David Woodley at QB- DAVID WOODLEY! Woodley actually came closer to winning it than Marino did. Marino played with the greatest coach in history who went to, and won multiple Super Bowls with other QB's. Marino just flat out couldn't get the job done! He was a big game choke.
Marino is top five as a pure thrower along with Favre, Fouts, Namath, and Jurgenson, but lacked the intangibles like mobility, improvisation, and intelligence to be an all-timer. Marino is just Drew Bledsoe with a longer career. Marino should never be ranked higher than near the bottom of the top ten. Agree?
