its now Day 4 of Parvo, Day 2 of IV/Antibiotic treatment. been writing a log about my Rott named Nino since yesterday on these boards. I called the vet hospital and they said he's still vomitting and having diahrrea. I dont know how long he'll last, the doc says he's still lethargic and I'm scared. I ordered some Parvaid that should come in tomorrow - im in the carribean and hoping that it does, he really needs it!! IDK what to do!

My dad is being an ass, he doesn't even want to take me to go see the dog! I know if I visit him, he'll be happy I came. That dog clings to me more than anyone in this house so I NEED to see him!!

I dont know what to do, I'm gonna cry!

I know from working at a vet's office that animals that are sick many times tend to give up when left alone. We always encouraged people to come and visit dogs with Parvo..to let the dog know that they haven't been left alone. It helps tremendously.

It's too bad that your father won't take you..*shakes head*. I don't understand his reasoning (if any) behind that.

If caught early dogs have about a 50% chance of survival with Parvo. It is something that progresses very quickly. I hate to hear that your dog is still vomiting and has diarrhea.

If there is any way that you can go see him, it sure would cheer him up.

Oh yes..and do make sure that you clean yourself before you come home. And your home and yard need to be decontaminated as well. Parvo can live for years.

I'm so sorry about your dog - pave is a nightmare, and now it's between Ni no and God.

If you think it will make him feel better, go see your dog. It will certainly make you feel like you have done your best for him, as you obviously love him. Just make absolutely sure that you decontaminate before you come out.

Some dogs have been treated with Tami flu as well - not sure if parvaid is the same drug, but you might look into it.

Good luck - whatever happens, you've done your best.
