Degree/Job to pursue for interest in interaction design?

I am interested in interaction design, advertising and the Internet media. While I am ok with programming, I don't wish to do programming as my future main job.

What kind of jobs should I possibly look into? And what kind of degree should I pursue to move towards a career in these areas?
