Ok, I was just wondering about the shot as birth control. First of all, does it really work? And do you really not get your period on it?
Also, how bad does it screw with your hormones? I tried the pill and let's just say that didn't last long. I took it to regulate my periods and it ended up making them twice as long, twice as heavy, and 100x more painful.
Plus I was sick all the time with it and I gained 20 pounds and broke out with acne (normally i never get pimples but i was covered in them with that rotten pill). And I don't want that happening with the shot. So if those are the side effects I might as well just forget it. Ha.
Another thing that I need to know is... is it absolutely necessary that i see a gynecologist to get it? Or can my pediatrician write me a prescription and my mom's friend who is a nurse can give me the shot? Like, do I have to have an exam at the gyn in order to get it? Ur help is appreciated.
