...they had to be pushed into D Day by USA? and Americans at the time viewed them and their 'fat headed' Prime Minister, as plain yellow. Did Churchill did not want to invade France sooner and end the war because that would mean an end to Britain's, and his own, supremacy on the world stage, at the expense of the US & USSR?

Was the war dragged on for unneccessary years because Churchill pursuaded Roosevelt, over his own generals, to invade via N Africa and Sicily instead of Normandy, to prolongue the war and his own importance?
