56k and lower is dial-up method only:
If you already have a computer with a modem inside, its most likely Dial-Up Only.
HighSpeed Light, HighSpeed Regular, HighSpeed Ultra, HighSpeed Extreme:
What ever HighSpeed Internet you go for (cable or DSL), most companies will lease you an external device, (a device separate from your computer) and connected to your ethernet port, (not phone line). If your computer doesn't have ethernet, you can pick up a card at any tech store. Some companies will provide you with a Ethernet Card though.
