In a famous quote by him, he said:

"Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." - Abraham Lincoln

So, my question is, was he referring to smoking actual cannabis here?

It would explain why he said:

"Prohibition goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." ~ Abraham Lincoln December, 1840

Stoners will post any crap from the internet in order to justify their pot habit.

Probably so and there wasn't this big issue about drugs back then. They were still arguing over the slavery issue after all. The "war on drugs" came in the 1980s.

Probably. He also had a hippie beard, and wore a funny looking hat.

My man, I always liked that guy; I will light my next joint in honor of Abe...hehe

actually that is almost a direct quote from a letter he wrote to a tea company back in the day. it said smoking marijuana and, having a cup of their delicious tea after work. that letter still exists somewhere. pretty sure he did. many did. and thanks, i think i will.
