...nutrition shake? I would like to apologize in advance for lengthy submission, bet here it is.
My mom had lost a lot of weight (around 10 lbs) due to stress lately. This had happened before and every time she always regained weight back. Other wise she is absolutely healthy person, in her mid 40th. Her appetite has also decreased, due to stress. And, she often doesn't have time to have full, balanced, nutritious meal, due to her work schedule. So, I have suggester her, due of the lack of better option, to take some high caloric drinks to make up for lost calories when she doesn't have a good meal. She had never taken any type of such product before. She had one of these drink, Ensure, two days ago. Today she has bought second 6 bottle case, which means that she has 2-3 bottles a day. What is odd is that you can see how her mood changes after 1-2 minutes after having a bottle of shake. She looks calm, satisfied, and feels very very sleepy. She admits that she experiences complete stress relief. To her it feels like comfort food. What scares me is that change is sudden. It lasts 45 min -1.5 hours, and then she feels like she needs another drink. Moreover she says that she started to have cravings for these drinks after first bottle. I don't understand what is going on. It some what alarms me. I sounds like she got hooked on these. But how can this be? It is just a nutrition shake. Did anybody had similar experience? Any suggestions?
