Did Evelyn Waugh drown himself in his toilet?

It is well known that Mr. Waugh croaked in his loo following a catholic mass. It is officially recorded as a heart attack... but there are rumors afoot that he in fact drowned (rather difficult, I agree) in the toilet bowl. This is more than alluded to in the odious Norman Sherry's 3rd volume of the life of Graham Greene. Does anyone have any further insight? Mr. Waugh was a vitriolic convert to Catholicism so to have taken his life this way would be the supreme irony (and ultimate joke).
