...actually save some sinners? Did He just shed His blood indiscriminately hoping that someone would take Him up on His "offer of a free gift"; so that His death wouldn't be a waste of time?

The Bible records than even one of the Roman soldiers who was part of the execution squad accepted Jesus' divinity as He was hanging on the cross.

He came to destroy the Power of the Second Death1 Corinthians 15:26 for Man kind by Satan. He came to give us an example in how to Live and He came to give man kind another chance for Salvation through His perfect Life and to bare Our Sins for us,in Our Repentance, so we would be as white as snow at the Second coming and at judgment, so as not to loose Eternal life. His Blood shed washed us Clean. For there is no forgiveness of Sin Hebrews 9:22 with out the shedding of Blood.{This is why the old Sacrificial System was in Place to direct all to the "LAST LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD"Jesus Christ ...John 1:29

This is Only for the Ones who ask for it. It is a Free Gift from God in Free will Choice. If Man decides against this Free gift then, Righteousness falls on the just and unjust Isa. 61:11,Is. 45:8 and this life for these will only last as long as they live on Earth.

They will have to pay for" their own Sins in the Lake of fire" for as Long as Gods judgment is and then become Ash. Each one will be judged on what they have done and what they have not done in life.

The Second death will be theirs, after the Lake of Fire burns "UP ALL SIN that is in it." Total death is the Result..not immortality some where else in limbo and burning some ridiculous eternal suffering created by Satan to make The God of the Universe Look Bad and discredit His Loving character of Fairness, and Justus.

Christ has Saved Millions of Us,you and me, in His Sacrifice on the Cross. He came to Give us a Choice of His Free Gift.. Thank you Beloved Saviour.

You know what would suck? If Jesus died a terrible bloody death in hopes that someone would "accept his gift of eternal life" and no one took him up on that offer. I'd be pissed.

Jesus died on the cross for EVERY SINGLE PERSON.......but God will NOT force ANYONE to be saved............and so ONLY those who BELIEVE and TRUST in His Son WILL be saved...........and it wasn't a "waste of time".........Jesus would have come and went through the same thing He did if only ONE person would believe on Him as their personal Savior. God just doesn't love us "EN MASSE" -- He knows and loves EACH and EVERY one of us and He is NOT willing for ANY of us to perish in Hell forever......, but it is up to EACH person to make the CHOICE..............Even though many people don't want the RESPONSIBILITY of Free Will and CHOICE............and choose to BLAME God and accuse Him of "sending" people to hell.............among other excuses that the world has for rejecting God.......

Neither. I died on the cross because that was his punishment dictated by Roman law.
