Did the hippies ruin religion and America?

I hated the late 1960's the music was sexual and horrible and promoted drugs and kids were trying LSD and its because of that phychedelic culture.People today have premarital sex and are UnGodly and I think this started with that stupid revolution"free love".We should have stuck with 1950's values and morals with the exception of racism and segregation!
 
Why stop there...I mean let's get women back in the kitchen barefoot & pregnant, I mean that is part of those values.
 
Nope not at all, if anything they helped put forth the values which deny materialism and focus on what really matters in the short time we have these bodies; love, simplicity, music, seeing us all as one family...

Wow, talk about your leap to conclusions. As a young man, I rejected Christianity long before I heard of a "Hippie" and by the time I smoked my first "joint" I knew that there were no such things as god or gods. As I became educated, I became more and more aware of just how silly Christianity was and knew that no sense could be made of it as long as my mind remained healthy.
