Ive been with my gf for a year and want to get married. We've said things like, "If we get married..." but never openly discussed it. I've met her family, she's met mine, we don't live together but spend most nights together. Everything is great. I want to propose to her on Christmas, but we havne't actually discussed it. Is that a bad idea? She loves surprises.
