Dish Network DVR Help!!!?

Is there a way to program the DVR so that I can watch have a program recording and then change the channel to something else without stopping the other program from recording. I have like 3 different televisions and I can leave one on and try to watch something else on the other one and they just won't let me change the channel!!!
 
If you have only 1 DVR for your system, you're stuck! We have 2 DVR settings w/ our system, with the least used TV (DVR 2) set as the default. That way we can record 1 program on the other TV & watch something else on the main TV.
