Divx movies won't work on firefox?

Whenever i try to watch a film on a Divx player (On firefox) as soon as the film starts buffering firefox freezes ("Not Responding") and asks to be shut down. I have all the latest updates and divx players and web players.
Divx is the only choice i have it's the only player you can use on the website to stream the films.

I am having the same problem. I went back to Firefox 3.5 to see if it was my update to 3.6 but I had same problem.
I had switched from AVG to MS Essentials for Security and tried turning off the Firewall as well as the settings on the allow page. neither worked.
I have exact same problem as you describe so it is not an isolated issue.

I found a fix at least for Vista on my HP Pavilion. I had upgraded to the new Divx 8 and found out that it has issues so I removed it (had to uninstall in safe mode), after that I installed Divx 7 and that took care of the problem for me.
