Do all iphone/ipod touch apps work on ipad?

Hi I have 4th gen ipod touch and of course have a variety of apps. On my pc in itunes it shows that my apps are divided in 2 groups: first: "iphone and ipod touch apps"(featuring such popular apps as Real Racing 2, Plants vs Zombies) while the second: "iphone, ipod touch and ipad apps". Does that mean that if buy ipad and sync my apps, that the first group of apps wont be synced to my ipad? That would be kind of lame, I mean in 2010 when ipad was first introduced it said all iphone apps will work on ipad..

YES, all iPhone and iPod touch apps WILL run on an iPad, but some of them might run on an iPhone-sized screen on your iPad's screen (there is a 2X button that zooms to fit but sometimes the grapics aren't all that great.)
SOME apps are what they call a universal binary-- they run on both iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch. So when you install it on your iPhone, it runs in such a way that is best on the smaller screen and vice-versa. (In the iTunes store, these apps will have a little "plus" sign next to their price.)
STILL OTHER APPS either can't be coded to run on both devices or the developers see no reason not to double-dip, so you would have to buy an "HD" version of the app in order for it to run optimally on the iPad.
Hope this helps.

Not necessarily, some apps are optimized to fit the screen on the ipad, and vic-versa. Some run much smoother on the ipad also, considering it has much more power to perform apps over an ipod touch for instance.
