Do any apps for other phones work for the Samsung Gravity Touch w/ T-Mobile?

Like could I get apps for the G1 on it, or any other 3G network apps?
I'm new to using apps/games on phones, so I'm not sure where to get them for FREE or what apps would work it. I'll give best answer to the person who actuallyyyy gives me a good answer:)
