I have occasional accidents in my pants/shorts whenever I go for a run. I usually go to the bathroom before I run also. A couple minutes after I start running, I have the urgency to urinate again, then it gets to the point towards the middle or end of the run where I'll have to urinate so bad and I'll try my hardest to hold it in. Sometimes my bladder gives up as I run and I have an accident and I'm talking wetting my shorts as if I was in a pool. It's very embarrassing. It usually happens on my leisure runs, but happened once in a 5k race and it was embarassing. My anatomy teacher that I had last semester mentioned that many marathon runners wear diapers, but I never heard of it until she said it. She mentioned that one of her teachers she had was a marathon runner and he admitted that he wears depends when he runs. The diaper idea sounds like a good idea since I'll have protection and not have to worry about the embarrassment of wet shorts, but do you think I have a certain type of incontinence. It's not like I have accidents doing anything else. It's only when I run. My bladder leaks a little throughout the day,but it's only a few drops. Can this running problem be fixed or should I go along with my teacher and wear diapers?
