Do atheists believe in the anti-Christ and end times?

**** PLEASE read the description before you blindly accuse and flame me for anything. Thanks. =)

Okay, so I was having a conversation with some random dude that I met in a sports store. I don't know how we got on the subject, but we started talking about religion, free-masonry, 2012 and all that rubbish. He said that he was catholic but didn't really go to church or practice, but then he started saying all this weird stuff about the Antichrist and the rapture, and how atheists even believe in the Antichrist, and every atheist in the country believes in it.

I told him that he was full of it, because I had never met a single atheist who believed in the rapture/Antichrist. So this dude went on to tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about, and that ALL atheist believe in the Antichrist and the end times, and such & such...

Wouldn't it kind of defeat the purpose and contradict atheism if they believed in such things..?

I know it was a foolish argument, but it made me wonder. Do all or even some atheists believe in the Antichrist/rapture/end times? Was this guy right, or was he just ignorant of the subject? I'm not trying to prove who as right or wrong, I just want to know.
Thank you everyone! =)
I knew that there was something WAY off about what he said. And he was dead serious about it, too. He kept trying to over-talk me, and not listen to what I had to say.

Atheists don't believe in any gods or anything god-related. The "anti-christ" and "the end of times" are certainly god related.

Sure, some of us are spiritual, but we definitely lack belief in deities.

I'm an atheist and I most certainly do not believe in end time prophecies or anti-Christs. While I would normally not begin to try to speak for other atheists I have to say I can't see how one could not believe in gods or Jesus but believe the Christian stories involving them. The only way I could see it is if he meant it very allegorically that atheists believe the world will end some day (most would acknowledge that at the very least someday in billions of years the sun is going to give out). Hopefully, we will have become a space travelling race by then who have found another home. I still don't see how the anti-Christ could fit in. So I would say he was way off and ignorant about atheists.

i have no reason to believe anything in the bible is factual, especially those parts written hundreds of years after the supposed life of jesus.

the guy was probably saying that because he think atheists just deny god, but we really believe.
the guy is a retard.

Why would anyone who does not believe in god believe those things. The man is just stupid.I don't know what to believe but I know anyone who doesn't believe in god would have no reason to believe the rest.

You'd have to believe in a "christ" to believe in an "antichrist..."
Since atheists don't believe in the former, they don't believe in the latter.

There *are* atheists who, entirely without magical gods, think that the problems in the world could lead us to blow ourselves to nuclear bits...maybe that's what this guy was on about?

Peace.

Catholics don't even believe in the Rapture, and atheists certainly don't.

The Christian religion is 2000 years old, before that, pagan Europeans had numerous god's and goddesses to whom, Jesus was their AntiChrist. He replaced them in people's affection. Whether he ever existed as a man is besides the point.

Religions evolve, look at how Christianity has developed over just the last 180 years (the Rapture was invented by an English Protestant called John Nelson Darby).

I'm sure you are aware just how popular some celebrities are.

There are groups who run this world, own the banks, the media finance the puppet politicians. They'll be looking out for a talented guy to play a part for them.

Not only don't I believe in the Antichrist or the Rapture, I don't believe in Snow White, Peter Rabbit, the Tooth Fairy or any other fairy tale figures.
