Do Christians believe that slavery is immoral?

"'Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves."
Leviticus 25:44
If slavery is immoral, why doesn't the Bible clearly say so. And if it's moral, why do you support the abolition of slavery? The Bible clearly says that owning slaves is okay.

Some Old Testament practices are no longer acceptable
due to changes in our society such as maintaining slaves who due to a lack of education would have found it extremely hard to survive on their own free of the sustenance provided by slave owners.
