Do Conservatives fantasize about themselves as Tom Cruise in 'The Last Samurai'?

Are they valiantly defending this Marlboro calendar version of Pax Americana, with lily white fences and marmalade (not really sure what that is) against an encroaching ghetto, rap music, and ethnic diversity?

Please, get a grip! If anything they fantasize about being on the verge of a new Reaganesque revolution, like the one where strong Conservative fiscal principles created a new, solid economic foundation that supported an economic boom lasting for the next 17 years.

I phuckin love rap music. But yes I would like to have been a samurai just not the Tom Cruise variety. Do you want to be a wrinkled up hag leftist from San Fransisco who doesn't have to worry about increased income taxes because she lives solely off of money her family and husband made long ago?

No but when ever I'm in a room full of liberals my mind goes to bar scene in the first Star Wars
''Good God Almighty these people are so ugly they would have to tie a pork chop around their necks to get the dog to play with them''

You've really fallen for those Mr and Mrs Butterton commercials about America haven't you. Or the Pleasentville nightnare vision of 50's USA? Please sit and talk with folks from those days. Not as whacked as you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E504BKI1AIM

No, actually my early TV/Movie heroes I would admire and "might" have dreamt of being? Broderick Crawford (Highway Patrol) Errol Flynn (Robin Hood-Capt. Blood, etc) Guy Williams (Zorro-Lost in Space), Richard Basehart (VTBoS) William Shatner (Star Trek) Patrick McGoohan (Scarecrow--The Prisoner) Or, even Tom Cruise (Valkyrie) People who stand up and either uphold justice? Or, strive to break the grip of corrupt authority

like I always said, those that say they are non racist, like the liberal idiot loons, are the MOST racist. Proven time and time again on here and in the real World. Libs are dangerous to the safety security and freedoms of the USA

I think people should watch that movie. even though it's not Historically correct, it doesn have some historical lessons that people can learn. I guess you have been watching it lately like I am since it's showing up on cable.

Why would you say that. Tom Cruise's character is a flawed man that found his way. Tom Cruise was fighting American Influence on not Caucasian society. He was also fighting capitalism. On the other hand, he was fighting progress and holding traditional views.

What I thought was significant in the movie is it helps peopole understand the gun wasn't such a great advantage. Amerindians and Japanese continue to use bows effectively until the mid 1800's. It was the gatling gun and the rifles who can shoot more then once that ended the bows. .

Marmalade is a type of citrus fruit preserve similar to jelly. But yeah, all Conservatives view themselves as valiant action heroes courageously struggling against the forces of absolute evil. To them, everyone is either good or bad. There is not spectrum, no in between. You are either on Team Con or you are a terrorists, traitor, heretic, Satanist, baby killer.
