I know they're *supposed* to reduce your chances of catching the flu... but I've never had a shot, and I've been sick once in the last 12 years. I know other people who never have flu shots, and they're rarely sick either. On the other hand, it seems that a lot of people I know who do get shots each year usually get sick each year. So from what I've seen, the shot doesn't really seem to be effective.
My question is, how effective is it really? And why do some people who get the shots get sick anyway? And why do others who rarely get the shots rarely get sick?
