I’m 19 years old. I've been hired as a computer programmer now already by my brother who started his business after Harvard. I pursue a career as a software engineer and web developer. I know these fields are known for being male dominated. I'm also an African-American female, which makes it even more unusual haha, but what the hell, I’m in this field for the funsies! I never want to depend off a guy financially, I want to be independent.
I'm a musician. I earned a $32,000 talent award scholarship when I used to be a music major. I've held many lead/principle parts beating out all the other guys (I used to practice 4-5 hours a day). Now, I play for hobby. I'm considered very talented at guitar as well and I'm in a band with my buddy to perform for independent coffee shops open mic nights.
I'm known for my sense of humor and people tell me I'm funny all the time. The guy I like, we're constantly joking and laughing to the point of falling over.
Thing is, I dont want to be labelled a "one of the guys"
Guess I’m a tom boy. What can I do to not get labeled as one of the guys? The guy I like called me “bro” when we were playing video games. I’m definitely not manly or manly looking, he’s called me pretty before. I dress well, good at cooking, paint my nails, wear some makeup, have long hair, etc. I’m just a feminine tom boy due to my interests and personality lol. I used to be shy during high school, I'm completely opposite since I came to college, but I just don't understand guys!
