Do I have to buy Activation card when i buy T-Mobile Pre-paid cellphone?

I'm looking at pre-paid phones from T-mobile and planning to buy one, but I don't know if i should buy the T-Mobile SIM Card Activation Kit? Do I necessarily need it, or does the phone already include this?
