When I bought my MacBook Pro, it came with 2 disks 1) Mac OS X Install DVD and 2) Applications Install DVD.
I already installed the Mac OS X DVD, but not the Applications DVD.
I was wondering what these are, and if I had to install both of these?

Thank You in advance :)

If there are applications already installed on your macbook, then no, you don't have to. Applications are things like movie editors, word processors, games, etc. If you don't want them, then don't install them. The Mac OS X dvd is your Operating System (Windows XP, 7, Mac, etc.) This is how you get your desktop, menu bars, and all the other things that allows you to interact with your computer. If you boot up for the first time and come to a screen that is "BIOS", then you need to use the DVD. If you go to the Mac desktop, or to a screen that asks for basic info to set up your desktop, then you don't need to use the dvd.

I find it kind of odd that you would need to install the O.S. when you buy a macbook. However, I would definitely keep these DVD's just in case you need to reformat for whatever reason.
