Do I have to introduce Gerber 2nd foods the same way you do with 1st foods?

Since there are new foods like pineapple and cherry and others he hasn't tried yet, do I have to feed him them for a week before I can move on to the next one?
 
new flavours should be intoduced every 2 to 3 days.
