Do i jave to buy a new brake proportional valve?

After multiple times of failure trying to bleed my brakes I went to the proportional valve and It's not sending brake fluid to the drums. I read that I have to open the valve but before I start messing with it I want to be sure that I'm not going to destroyed or waste my time trying to open the valve. If you can help please reply.
