Do I need a mot for a track car?

I'm looking to buy a car for track use,what sorts of standards to tracks require?

depends on track
they would give our cars safety checks before
but i have seen them let them run with out hoods (big violation) and the car blew up in front of me and showered my car with engine parts.
they also have rule books to buy that tell what they need.

If its never driven on a public road, only towed, then no.
