Do martial arts instructors accutly care about teaching rather than money?

well most martial arts places are privately owned rather than big company business's and so money is a major part don't get me wrong but my friend is in TKD and he goes up 2 belts for every time i asked him why his master said because he is perfect at the forms but he has to pay for the belts to so maybe he just wants more money faster but i know there are several instructors here on yahoo answers please answer this question truthfully i mean its a good Business there good at the trade so make a dojo and destroy kids fund banks with realy expensive accounts and stuff.
 
Depends.....I'm in Kuk Sool Won, the martial arts system from Korea, and I teach out of my love for the art. I do not get paid for my own gain. I charge twenty bucks a month, but all that goes toward supplies like dummies and equipment. Also, the money is put towards gas and money in case we go on a trip to a seminar. Do I get paid? Yes. Do I use the money on myself? Absolutely not.
 
most do...what you gotta understand is its also a business...and should be treated as such. you gotta pay the dojo rent
 
running a gym costs a lot of money, and buying the equipment is VERY expensive, especially if you're putting in heavy bags, a professional ring, matting etc.

obviously money is a big part, because teachers do it full-time and it's their main source of revenue. everybodies gotta put food on the table.

some places are mcdojos though. they just want you to buy their shirts, and charge like $100 for every testing, then charge you for your belt and some other random fees.

i wouldn't call your average instructor "passionate" about what he does. there are some out there that are, but most of them have money in mind, and want to keep you at the gym so they try to make you happy, but there are some that just rank you up like 6 times a year and make you a black belt in 2 years, when all youve learnt in that 2 years is equivalent to a green belt in an actual gym, which takes like a year to achieve.
 
Martial arts instructors need money to buy food , feed family , pay off mortgage of house , expenses , etc.
Most of them are passionate in the sports , grading need affiliation with National body / association which charges a fee.
Upgrading personally is is an investment for your well being or future.
