Do police mail citations for speeding tickets?

I just got pulled over today. I was 8 miles over the speed limit. He did not give me the ticket there, do I look for it in the mail. He did make me sign this machine acknowledging that he stopped me. Should I expect a citation with a court date? Because he didn't tell me anything.

yes you will get the ticket in the mail. If this is your first offense the judge will more than likly throw out the case
