the democratic president and democratic congress are doing when they ran up massive deficits themselves?
Looks to me like both parties are totally messed up.
Angel of death - Let me assure you I am not an Obamabot. That is a horrible thing to accuse me of.

Yes, they do. The fact is the deficit under Bush was 26% of GNP, under obama in less then 3weeks it will be 36%. The unfunded liability of social security, medicare and mediaid is 50 ttillion dollars, yes that's trillion. Add another 18trillion in loan guantees by student loans, pension guarntees, as such. It was the republicans starting with Reagan that recogonized we must make Social security a privately funded plan and take this huge unfunded liability off the table. It was the demoates who went back to the scare tatics saying retired people would lose their benefits, a lie of course. Bush II tried it recongonizaing the major problem comming, again the dems woudln't budge. During the the end of the 1970's when we had 21% interest rates and 11% unemployment, we had Reagan twith the economic and tax reform act of 81 and 83 tht cut tax rates from 70% hight to 36' This created a deficit, but not due to the tax cuts as they produced another trillion dollars in revenues, it democratic spending who controlld bothhouses. Until 1992. Plus no republican ever incrested the debt by a tirllin dolars in two weeks. The pork stimulius package just passed will not do a thing to help the eononomy, but will instead taoke a a huge amount of money away from the privte sedor and put it tinot he public sector having a buch of cronies spending it as they see fit for their own political gain. PS it Prior to 1964 the social security fund was actually funded, it was Lyidon Johson who invaded it to pay for vietnam. So when you look at the yearly national debt it pales wo what our unfunded liabiltieis are and that lies totally in the hadns of democrates. It's a sad day for America as we march towards socialism. Fairness Doctrine? Nationlization of Banks? Auto companies reporting to govt bureocrates? Census bureau moved int the white house to protect democratic districts while trying to eliminate republicans.

Good point. However I can think of one politician who has been waving a red flag for years!

Dr. Ron Paul!

Afraid so. Please refresh my memory, when did a republican propose a trillion dollar plus stimulus plan? I was complaining when Bush did his $245 billion stimulus, that was dumb, this is beyond dumb or ridiculous, it is insane, it's economic suicide.

I take it you have not seen the news that the actual deficit is closer to 100 trillion dollars, not 10 trillion. Do you think it is smart for anyone to be piling on right now? So why is it a good argument that it is ok because some one else did it first.

might want to look at spending other the last few years before saying the Republicans ran up the deficit themselves

besides BO is wasting the money, he is taking it from us and giving it to the people who helped him buy/steal the office

people really need to wake up and see that evil things like BO are trying to do nothing but take power away from the people and keep it for themselves, I think is is called Communism and Socialism is the first step

No.They certainly do not.I think Bill Clinton is more of a fiscal Conservative than Republicans would ever hope to be.However, that does not justify Democrats spending like crazy just because Republicans had a hand in effing up

Yes, they do. It has never been and never will be a valid excuse to say "look what they did first" to justify doing more of the exact same thing.

Well Republicans Still Dont Think That We Need A Huge Bailout Bill Cuz Supposely Its Too Much And Irresponsible!!

Well Look Wat They Have Done To Us In The Past 8 Years!!!!!

The republicans of the old guard need both legs to stand on because they got so fat.
The new Conservative guard is in the gym warming up. You aint seen nothin yet Enry Iggins!!!!!!!

Yes. Wrong is wrong, and this bill is as wrong as wrong can be.

The budget deficit is already huge; spending even more on unnecessary stuff only serves to create bigger deficits and it eats up the credit available to the private sector.

And it has the additional characteristic that it is exactly the kind of spending which has been proven, over and over, to NOT stimulate economies.
