Do we have proper birth certificates for our Carnival cruise?

The birth certificates we have are county issued with the embossed seal on them. They are not hospital issued with the footprints or anything. The reason we ask is we keep reading "state issued." Ours are county issued but seem official. Will that work? It does say "State of Illinois" on the top of the certificate by the way. Thanks!

You have the correct birth certificates.

I'm sure you also realize this, but just saying... the birth certificates must also be accompanied by a "state issued" photo ID.

In this case, "state issued" refers to the generic governmental "state" not a particular "State."

Have a great cruise.

BTW... a passport or passport card is not that difficult to obtain. If for any reason you had to leave the cruise and fly back home for an emergency, you will need a passport anyway.
