Do you believe in premonitions? If so, why? and have you had any?

I have had a few. I had a dream that was similar to 9/11 2 months before it happened, and one day at work I felt weird, like something was wrong, my dad came to my mind so I called my parents and there was no answer. I was at work that day and I kept calling because I felt like something was wrong. Something told me to call the hospital and sure enough he was there. My stepmom answered the phone in his room and said....."How did you know?" Would like to hear other experiences.
 
I get them In my dreams all the time ectleast 5 or 6 out of all my dreams in a months time come true but strangely I've had a lot of them happening daily and had 2 in one day happen.

Sadly I had a premonition of my mom yelling for help, when I went upstairs to check on her. When I asked her if she called she said in a very stern commanding tone "NO, What did you hear?" So, I told her. She told me "If your father kills me can you take over?" I said I would try and bid her goodnight. I was just 10 days from my 14th birthday. (Our entire family had psychic abilities to some extent and things like this were common)
Four hours later I hear her yelling for help again, this time it was for real, I got up and saw my dad beating my mom, he yelled at us to get to bed. My mom died that night and I lost my dad to prison.
This is the worst one I have ever had. I have had others but they are sad also.
I do have good ones too, I predict marriage etc...
