It seems like it's just me, but if I can't concentrate writing if music is playing, especially when there's words. I just prefer to write in silence.
I know this has been asked a million times before, but what kind of music do you listen to when you write? Do the words to the music bother you at all or does it help you write better?

Oh, and here's some rain :D

Not if it fits the scene's mood. Wild rock music during a death scene will do nothing. But depressing music can really help. What I found is that classical music can be very inspiring. It helps you to write more...

Yes, listen to music when I'm trying to write something, distracts me A LOT! specially when there's lyrics in the song. I understand you :) so I usually don't listen to music when I'm writing something :)

ooooh YES, i find it SOOO disturbing. but i get jealous of those who can write with nice music-not rap, rock, or pop...like instrumental or new age.

I can only write when it is really quite, or lol when i am somewhere scenice. It is easier for me to hear and gather my thougts and put them on paper. And btw, i loooove rainy mood :)
