Do you get charged internet for the Facebook updates on an Android?

Okay, so, I recently got an Android (Motorola Quench, if it helps) and, on the page that comes up when you turn it on, social network updates (in this case, Facebook) come up. I get free social networking including Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, so I was wondering if I'd get charged for these automatic updates.

I've deleted them off the homepage and my Motoblur account for now, just in case, but I'd like to know so I can put them back up. Thanks!
