Do you get friend invitations on facebook from strangers, not having ur picture

posted? I do not have a picture, only registered with a very brief description. This week suddenly I get these random invitations to be friends with people? What do you think is going on here?
Seriously, I'd like to know.

Facebook has a function that will show your account, pic or no pic, to friends of your friends on there, with the title "you have (blank) friends in common" or "you should know this person". This is solely based on how many friends you and the person has in common. That is why. I hate it personally.
