Do you have to do just a CBT for a geard 125cc bike?

I have recently bought a automatic 125cc scooter and going to do my CBT soon however my boyfriend has bought a 125cc geared bike and i'm confused weather he has to just do a CBT for that or another course for it as well?
 
As far as i`m aware the CBT course is the same for both of you .... You are aware that it only lasts for 24 months ??
 
just have to know how to ride it paper test about the same driver test you would have to show them you can ride shouldnt be much differents one you shift one you dont
