Do you have to get a data plan with the BlackBerry® Storm™ 9530 smartphone?

I am getting my upgrade in a few weeks, I really want the blackberry to use as just a phone without the data plan..I have a smart phone now and I dont have a data plan, so I wasn't sure if they made you get it with the Blackberry.

It depends who your company is, At&t and Verizon you absolutely have to have a data plan with any blackberry.
T-mobile and Sprint does not make you get a data plan.
