...have till it goes bad? i got a bottle of white wine for my birthday, do i have to refrigerate white wine once opened, and how long do you have till it goes bad? and does it taste better cold?
Answer number one is wrong. Wine is never going to go bad unless the cork dries up and the alcohol evaporates. When storing wine, you should always leave the bottle on it's side so that the cork stays moist. If you open a bottle of wine, you dont have to refrigerate it for later. Just keep the cork on tight and make sure it stays wet by tilting the bottle every few days. Almost every decent wine in the world is drunk at room temp. Cheap alcoholicky wines like Ruinite are chilled or served on ice because they are for idiots. Dont chill your good wine. Oh, it doesn't go bad unless it happens to turn into vinegar which would be the result of too much air getting inside the bottle. Thus, I say again, keep the cork on tight and moisten it often.
Some advice. If its a cork bottle, make sure you have something to put in the neck of the bottle, to close it, otherwise it goes flat quicker. And yes refrigerate the wine, and drink it within 2 days, for best taste. However it doesnt go bad if kept longer, trust me I've done it.
