Do you recommend me engraving my iPad 2?

My dad told me that he's going to get me an iPad 2, and I told him that he should buy it online from Apple so I can get the chace to engrave it. However he told me that's not a good idea because if I engrave it, I won't be able to sell it in a couple years because it's going to have permanenet engraving which people won't be satisfied with, thus they won't by it. What do you think? I'm not sure what to do..get it engraved, or just keep it regular..
 
Keep it as normal, then you can sell it on. Or what if it breaks and you have to send it back. They may send you replacement without the engravement.
