...future technology? I have recently been really depressed over my IQ score. I haven't really taken a proper test, but when I forget the most obvious things and screw up big time in problem solving, I get so depressed and feel like I'll never achieve anything.
I want to become a computer programmer later on in my life, but I feel too unintelligent to be able to. I've heard of nootropic drugs, which apparently increase your cognitive abilities temporarily (while the drug is in your bloodstream), but are there other permanent ways?
Tom2: I was thinking more on the line of modifying the person's brain somehow or some drug that could, permanently, rather than temporarily, increase someone's intelligence.
I also wonder if stupid people don't know if they're stupid or not. No one seems to care, it doesn't bother them. Am I the only one who cares?
Also, Michael is correct. I have noticed huge improvements in my cognitive ability when I'm in a good mood and am confident. I used to think that getting 5-6 hours of sleep was a possible culprit of the problems (I at least feel like) I'm having, but after getting 11 and a half hours of sleep, I really don't feel any different and feel even more stressed than usual.
Maybe I should take some anti-anxiety (or whatever would be appropriate to stop me from worrying about my inferior cognitive ability) and then take an IQ test and see how much better I do.
