Do you think online downloading will make cinemas and Blueray/DVDs obsolete?

Do you think stores that sell DVDs/Blue Ray as well as cinemas will be going obsolete/out of business with the increased downloading.
they are making deals to release films directly to online vendors at the same time they release them to theatres. Do you think that will make a difference?

Many people thought television would put movie theaters out of business. Many, many people want the cinematic experience, so I look for theaters to be around for a long time to come.

Legal downloading/streaming of movies will hurt the physical disk market, and may eventually put it to an end, but that will take quite a while. Many people do not have access to broadband and/or the ability to easily connect that broadband to a television.

Not the cinemas. I am shocked to see the "weekend" earning from several different movies every week. Then hear people say how bad the economy is.

i totally disagree with illegal downloading if thats what you mean?

for all the work a movie studio go through to make something amazing. and then someone STEALS it from them without paying? if the majority of people kept downloading movies then companies wont have a very good DVD or box office sale which makes them more less inclined to make a sequel or at least be weary about making another movie. i think people who love movies and cinema will stay true to blu ray/dvd's and cinema. but its the people who dont give a crap about the film industry that are destroying it. i hate piracy and online thieving (especially movies) plus are you really foing to get the best quality with a download?
no way.

overall i dont think cinema or blu-ray will be obsolete, DVD's however will become obsolete just like VHS is now...but only due to better technology, not piracy
