Do you think premonitions are possible/real?

Do you think you can predict what will happen through dreams or other means?
If so, are these premonitions coincidence, or are they derived from some sort of energy of something?
Moreover if these do exist, can you develop your ability to experience them?

I know they exist because I have had them. What I am not sure of is whether or not they are supernatural. What I sometimes wonder is if I had seen hints of the coming event and they registered in my subconscious mind so I was consciously unaware until I put all the pieces together and experienced a premonition. An example would be that I suddenly for-saw a family members death, even though that person was not sick. As it turns out that person was sick and did not know it and I wonder if I did not see subtle signs of illness over a period of time that I did not consciously acknowledge until these signs all built up and I experienced the sudden cognition that something bad was going to happen to that person.
 
I really do think that some people have the ability. There is no science to back it up and that is what makes in interesting. These things usually come natural but if you wanted them, you would have to be very spiritual. You should really research this.
