Do you think that the following confirmed social trend is a good thing?

For men with degrees, who want marriage and children (“marriage” includes long term relationships with a woman):

The men date and sometimes marry, women with degrees of a similar or slightly lower age, in the first 3-5 years after they leave University. However after this period, the single men remaining tend to start dating women younger than them, many of whom do not have degrees and may marry them.

The remaining men who then get into their 30’s, often marry women 3-8 years younger than them, the majority of whom do not have degrees. This then means that Tradesmen often marry women who do not have degrees (as normal) and these women are skilled, semi-skilled or unskilled.

Unskilled men are then left with fewer women to marry and in some cases this is a good thing, as women face social problems in an increased percentage at this level (e.g. abusive/alcoholic/unemployed husbands) and it reduces the number of “big families” who live off unemployment pay.

Of course, men with degrees often opt out of marriage and children altogether. However these men are not included in the above trend.

The “casualty” of this trend is a lot of unmarried women with degrees who want marriage and children. However, this is not a problem to society as these women continue working (and occasionally opt to become single mothers).

Yes, I have a degree with honours.

"Social strata" is a realism, the fact that you find it offensive is not my problem.
Turdman - have you been to jail as well?

I am a currently unemployed (career break while living off savings and traveling), 'unskilled' tradesman with ADHD. I read your question, then was unable to comprehend what was written below it. Even though I am flying on 20mg of Adderal XR. Lovely dopamine and serotonin are pooling abundantly within the synapse of my neo-cortex, yet when I look at the dam thing all I see is:

Do you think that the following confirmed social trend is a good thing?

"Unskilled <<I assume you're talking about men in manual labor jobs / no degree>> men are then left with fewer women to marry and in some cases this is a good thing, as women face social problems in an increased percentage at this level (e.g. abusive/alcoholic/unemployed husbands) and it reduces the number of “big families” who live off unemployment pay."

"marry <<WOMEN>>3-8 years younger than them, the majority of <<WHOM>> do not have degrees" What's the WHOM for? The group you are specifying are women, the group is already identified and the word "whom" is therefore misused. Do YOU have a degree?

The only solid point you've made is that you're mighty hung up on social strata, aren't you? A person's pedigree or "papers" (degree) is what makes the man or woman, huh? Please, I beg you to re-read your 'question'--you'll find that it talks a lot but has no significant point other than expressing an obscenely elitist attitude.

Chew on some humble pie & get down with the people. I doubt anybody is here is impressed.
