guilt and feeling 'bad'? after 'a one night stand' is leftover from being indoctrinated during a Catholic schooling?
The intellectual part of me realises that I shouldn't have felt this way, I was single.
I am an atheist and see it as okay for others, I believe those who don't feel guilt have a healthier handle on the situation.
I don't carry guilt around with me all the time, I'm not consumed by it, I was just pondering why I had felt so bad and it led me to think that there is an insidious part of Catholicism that remains within me. Which seems very strange to me considering I am anti theism (not anti theist).
Are there any other atheists who were raised Christian who feel they aren't fully rid of the guilt entrenched in us as children?
Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?
(((Toke))) I think you're onto something there. It's odd how you can have a fairly decent IQ and still be a 'slow learner' when it comes to affairs of the heart.
