My dad is a christian and he always goes on about how christians were killed and prosecuted by the romans, but I always have to tell him how christians did the same to pagans and Gnostic's when they had the power, so how can it be wrong for romans to kill christians but not wrong for christians to kill Gnostic's and witches? And what about all the brutal genocide performed by the Israelites in the bible, how can that be right? Isn't this just self righteousness

The Lord Jesus taught very clearly how to identify His
real followers from fakes . . by their "fruit" (behavior)
Anyone who KILLS people... is NOT a Christian. . .

the christians were far more evil towards the polytheists than the romans had been towards them. also, the christians killed each other in a manner that is just awful.
the christians exterminated the native americans, with few exceptions. how many taino are there in the bahamas, in cuba, jamaica, puerto rico, santo domingo & haiti, and in the lesser antilles? NONE.
the christians killed more people in the name of their god than anybody, even more than the muslims.

There were the Crusades. There was the Inquisition. Tell your dad that the Romans were pikers compared to the 'christians'.
 
Of course it isn't right. God says not to murder. Don't confuse what some people do, using the name of God to justify their actions, with what God would truly have us do.
