does any 1 know how to clean scratches off dvd's ?

i got a whole bunch of dvds that got scratched those dvd books , and im trying to clean them cause they got scratched pretty bad , please help
 
I used a product called Disk Doctor it repaired cd/dvd i thought were unrepairable.
 
I use to put toothpaste on than put in the freezer for an hour or two. I dont recall if it worked as that was years ago. Your best bet would be to use something mildy abrasive such as baking soda or maybe cornstarche. Also they make kits which do this such as dvd doctor.
