Does anybody have the discounted long distance to Mexico from T-Mobile is it good?

I have a T-mobile phone and I want to add the Discounted long distance to Mexico that is $4.99 per month, does anybody have that and could tell me how it works. Like it honestly sounds to good it must have a catch so please your help would mean a lot.
