motor co. that is working 2 jobs...? My dad served in Vietnam....He worked for Ford Motor Co. for over 30 years...and forced into retirement. The reason why I am asking...my dad is working 2 jobs, just to make ends meet...don't want to get into much detail..my mom is prob. about 60% of the financial trouble, she is an alcoholic. My dad is the most wonderful person anybody can ever meet...everybody knows him, where ever I go. they love him. I have known for awhile now that he has CAD...coronary artery disease...2 heart attacks this year, raises my anxiety. Well, I just got really bad news, that it has spreaded to his aorta, his cardiologist said he is a ticking time bomb. My father is financially struggling....and trust me, if I could I would help. I even play the lottery every once in awhile hoping to win enough, to make him comfortable. Is there any financial support that he can apply for? He told me, "Jen, I know I am going to the work until the day I die..." and that scares me...because my dad deserves more than that. He is currently working on a refinance for their house, but hospital bills are outrageous too. And trust me, they don't care. I have called, I work in the medical field...they can't even give him a break on that. I am talking 500-1.000 just these past 6 months. I would do anything for him, he would do anything for me...Is there something I could suggest?

There is no way you're going to "fix" this situation. Between his pension and his other income, he isn't going to qualify for any assistance. I'm surprised that the autoworkers don't provide medical insurance. The only way it's going to end is if and when your parents look at the picture and decide to change the channel.
